The short version
The Rickhouse is a private, invite-only bourbon collection & tasting journal. We collect only what's needed to run it, we don't sell your data, and you can delete your account and everything in it at any time from Settings.
What we collect
- Account info — your email, display name, and password (stored only as a salted hash).
- Your content — bottles, pours, ratings, tasting notes, photos you upload, your hunt list, and tasting flights.
- Profile photo — if you choose to upload one.
- Social activity — who you follow, and the cheers/comments you leave.
- Push tokens — if you enable notifications, the device subscription needed to send them.
- Basic technical data — standard request/log data from our host needed to operate the service.
How we use it
Solely to provide the app's features — your collection, journal, stats, and the social feed shared with people you and they have connected with. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Who can see your content
Within the app, members can see content per its social features (for example, people who follow you can see your pours, cheers, and comments). It is not public to the open internet — the app is invite-only.
Where it's stored
Data is stored with our infrastructure providers: a managed Postgres database (Neon), application hosting (Vercel), image storage (Vercel Blob), and DNS (Cloudflare). They process data on our behalf to run the service.
Your choices
- Edit your display name, email, password, and photo anytime in Settings.
- Delete your account anytime in Settings → Danger zone. This permanently removes your account and your content.
- Turn push notifications on or off per device in Settings → Notifications.
Age
The Rickhouse is intended for adults of legal drinking age (21+ in the U.S.). It is not directed at anyone under that age.
